ArcticNorth takes a grassroots approach that engages stakeholders throughout the research and planning process. Our clients have diverse needs, which are reflected in our projects. These include community-based adaptation planning for climate change, survey development, stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation, policy analysis, and sectoral climate change vulnerability assessment.

Community-Research collaboration

  • Expertise in engaging multiple stakeholders in community adaptation planning for climate change including, First Nations, Inuit, governments, NGOs, and industry. (pdf)

Climate change vulnerability assessment

  • Documenting climate related risks and adaptation options
  • Identifying future climate change risks
  • Identifying who and what aspects of the community are vulnerable to climate risks and why in the context of multiple stresses (climate and non-climate related)

Climate change adaptation planning

  • What can be done to help manage the impacts of climate change?
  • How can climate change adaptation planning be mainstreamed into existing institutions and decision-making?

We also offer project consultation, providing expert advice for projects being developed or considered in the area of climate change vulnerability and adaptation.
